The Seed Among The Thorns

The seed among the thorns. How are you cultivating the WORD of GOD? Are you combining with the things of the world or are you fully accepting the WORD of TRUTH?

“Still others, like the seed sown among thorns, hear the word, but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” Mark 4:18-19 NIV

I read Mark 4, The Parable of the Sower, and verses 18-19 caught my attention. It seems that the seed among thorns when the seed is thrown among the place where the thorns are, which is the gospel with otherworldly desires, the seed becomes unfruitful.

You don’t produce spiritual fruit by living in the WORD and living in the world. You live in the WORD and abide in the WORD that you have spiritual fruit.

I have been keeping myself informed about what is going on by mostly watching videos, sermons, and the prophetic. One thing that continuously pops up is that the LORD is waking up His people. And He still is waking them up.

The Seed Among The Thorns

What may be going on in the world is more than we see in the natural. To some extent, some of us, particularly the Church, are the seed thrown among the thorns. GOD is the source for all things, but we seek these sources first, which is idolatry. Instead of seeking GOD, we are still walking the road of gathering up something rather than leaving it to GOD to guide us and lead us to where HIS purpose for us leads.

Our purpose is to Love God and Love people as we love ourselves. We are to SEEK first the kingdom of GOD, AND His righteousness and ALL these things that are the desires of our hearts (which he placed in us) will be given unto us. Our life begins with GOD and continues with GOD.

“All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

Nothing in this world will satisfy. Do you know how many tv shows I have watched to the point that I got tired of watching them because they were wasteful? I was trying to fill a hole in my life, and I knew that GOD was the only one that could fill it. If you’ve read my testimonies about pride and pornography, my life has changed a lot. And all gratitude and thankfulness to GOD. There is no pruning involved, but I would instead be pruned by the LORD than live a life I was not meant to live.

Now I don’t mind watching a documentary, or I Love Lucy, but our desire for GOD should be more than our car, TV shows, and career.

The seed among the thorns.

So how do you walk and produce good fruits? It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is only choosing to let the Holy Spirit lead you to walk in the purpose of GOD. It is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of GOD. The power of God works within you to will and act to fulfill His purpose. But you have to be willing and desiring God to lead you by faith.

How do you walk away from the thorns? Make GOD your priority. Let GOD become a priority over all of your life and things because He is the only one that knows how to conduct your life. Pray and set your worries, burdens, weekly plans, whatever it may be before Him, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your life. Let God’s WORD speak over your life, your job, your career, and all aspects of your life.

So how are you going to receive the WORD of GOD today? Are you receiving it with the things of this world? Or are you receiving fully in your heart, avoiding the world’s desires, and producing spiritual fruit?

Hope this post blessed you.

“And the fruit of Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control, against such these things, there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23)

Clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12)

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever” 1 John 2:17 NIV.
