The Obedience Of Jesus Christ

The Obedience Of Jesus Christ

Have you ever wondered about the obedience of Christ? I mean, Jesus Christ did everything Father God said to do, and now He is seated at the right hand of Abba, Father God. Now I had to question this myself: am I fully obedient to doing God’s will? Am I walking in His will? Is His will my food to do daily, according to His WORD?

I wrote this post to thoroughly examine how Jesus Christ was continuously obedient to GOD’s will and how we should also be obedient as He was. So how was Jesus Christ obedient to God?

Let’s read on.

He Loved And Desired God’s Will Above All Else

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being].” Deuteronomy 6:5 AMP

Jesus Christ, who is also God, loves Father GOD. I mean, they are one, with the Holy Spirit, of course. But they also loved the world, according to John 3:16. God so loved the world that He sent Jesus Christ to die for us so that we can be reunited with GOD the Father through Christ and live life and more abundantly (JOHN10:10B; John 17:3)). We now have eternal life. Is that not great news?

We are told to love the LORD GOD with all of our hearts, soul, mind, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). Therefore, if we are told to do this, we should strive to love God and be willing to obey HIM. It is also because God so much loves us. He desires what’s best for us. So why not trust in Him and obey His WORD, the logos, and the rhema?

God is the God who does not say to follow and obey Him for nothing. If you think about it, we are blessed when we obey Him. He meets our needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We belong to Him; therefore, giving ourselves to Him should be fair and just.

Therefore, Jesus Christ was one with God. And God is one with Christ, leading Jesus Christ to do the will of the Father without question because of the Love between them (John 14:10-11).

Shouldn’t we want to experience this Love as well? This true Love by fully surrendering our all to God?

To imitate the obedience of Christ is to fully love HIM with our being. Why? Because we are His creation, We are His Children, and He deserves it! Don’t you think so?

He Became A Servant, Serving Others In Love

Jesus Christ came from Heaven, His home, into the earth, to do the will of Father God in Love by saving us from sin that leads to death (Romans 6:23).

I once saw a video by Jesse Duplantis and His visit to Heaven (which makes me excited about Heaven more and more). In the part where He met David, I believe David mentioned that they (himself) are in Heaven to serve others and each other. As children of God, I believe that we will serve each other in Heaven. But that is all I will say about that.

Therefore, Jesus Christ came down on this earth to show how we should truly love each other by serving each other, as He also showed while He was living on earth (for example, Jesus washing the disciple’s feet in John 13:5-20).

So to imitate the obedience of Christ, we need to learn how to serve others, all people, in Love because we will be doing it in Heaven as well (Galatians 5:13).

“Therefore, become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their Father]; and walk continuously in Love [that is-value one another-practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became a sweet fragrance.[ Ezekiel 20:41]. Ephesians 5:1-2 AMP.

He Obeyed Because He Knew Who He was In Father GOD

When we know who we are in Christ and as a Child of GOD, obeying GOD should be easy.

Only because He knows what He is doing and whatever we do we will be forever blessed.

When we read the WORD of GOD, by meditating and truly implanting His WORD in our hearts, this transforms us. For example, in Romans 12:2, we are supposed to not conform to the patterns of the world by being transformed by the renewing of the mind so we may know what GOD’s pleasing perfect will is for us.

Jesus Christ was educated. He read the WORD written in Moses’ time. Plus, He even quoted them in His ministry (the example of the rich young man asking Jesus Christ how to receive eternal salvation in Matthew 19:16-26). He knew who He was in His Father because He made it His mission to please Him as written in John 4:34.

So how do we imitate the obedience of Jesus Christ? It is through Love. Jesus Christ obeyed and did the will of God will all of His being because He loved the Father. And because of this Love, He knew who He was as the Son of God and what this involved, which is serving the Father by serving others.

I hope this post blessed you.

Until Next Time,
